Terms of Service

1. General Provisions

1.1 Service Definition

Da-woo House Guesthouse ("the Company", "we", "us") operates an accommodation service located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of our website, reservation system, and accommodation services (collectively, "the Service").

The Service includes but is not limited to: online room reservations, payment processing, guest account management, loyalty points and coupon programs, guest reviews, and related communication services.

1.2 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and guests.

1.3 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be notified at least 7 days in advance via website notice or email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

2. Membership and Accounts

2.1 Account Registration

Account registration is optional. You may make reservations as a guest without creating an account. However, certain features (loyalty points, coupon usage, review writing) require an account.

2.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years of age to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

2.4 Account Termination

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, any unused points or coupons will be forfeited.

3. Reservations, Payment, and Cancellation

3.1 Reservations

Reservations are made through our website or authorized booking platforms. A reservation is considered pending until payment or deposit is received. We reserve the right to cancel unpaid reservations after 24 hours.

This is a self check-in accommodation with no reception desk. Check-in instructions (door codes, room information) will be sent via email and the designated contact method before arrival. Guests must contact us prior to arrival.

  • Check-in: from 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: by 11:00 AM
  • Late check-out may be available upon request (subject to availability)

3.2 Payment

All prices are in Korean Won (KRW) and include 10% VAT. We accept the following payment methods, each with applicable surcharges:

3.3 Cancellation and Refund

Cancellations are subject to our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In summary:

  • 14+ days before check-in: 100% refund (free cancellation)
  • 7-13 days before: 50% refund
  • 2-6 days before: 25% refund
  • 0-1 days before: No refund

For reservations made through third-party platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.), the respective platform's cancellation policy applies.

4. Points and Coupons

4.1 Points Program

  • Points are earned through account registration bonuses and approved guest reviews.
  • Text review: 1,000 points. Review with photos: 5,000 points.
  • Points earned from a review for a specific reservation cannot be used for that same reservation.
  • Points are valid for 1 year (365 days) from the date of issuance.
  • Points are non-transferable and cannot be converted to cash.
  • Points can only be used for reservations on our direct booking website.
  • Expired points are automatically forfeited. Notification emails are sent at 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day before expiry.
  • Points may be adjusted or revoked by the Company in cases of abuse, fraud, or Terms violation.
  • Upon account deletion, all unused points are forfeited.

4.2 Coupons

  • Coupons are issued by the Company for promotions and special events.
  • Each coupon has specific terms: validity period, minimum order amount, maximum discount, usage limit.
  • Coupons are non-transferable and may be limited to one use per user.
  • Coupons cannot be combined with each other (one coupon per reservation).
  • Coupons may be revoked if obtained through fraudulent means.
  • Expired coupons cannot be reissued or extended.

4.3 Abuse Prevention

The Company reserves the right to suspend accounts, revoke points/coupons, and cancel reservations if we detect abuse of the loyalty program, including but not limited to: creating multiple accounts, submitting fake reviews, using unauthorized coupon codes, or any other fraudulent activity.

5. Guest Reviews

5.1 Review Eligibility

Only registered users who have completed a stay may submit a review. One review is allowed per reservation. Reviews must be submitted after check-out.

5.2 Review Approval

All reviews are subject to approval by the Company before being published on the website. We review content for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with these guidelines. Review decisions are typically made within 3 business days.

5.3 Prohibited Content

Reviews must not contain:

  • False or misleading statements
  • Offensive, discriminatory, or abusive language
  • Personal information of other guests or staff
  • Advertising or promotional content
  • Content unrelated to the stay experience
  • Copyrighted material without permission
  • Illegal content or content encouraging illegal activity

5.4 Photo Rights

By submitting photos with your review, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and reproduce the photos on our website and marketing materials. You represent that you own or have permission to share all photos submitted. Photos must not contain identifiable faces of other guests without their consent.

6. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

6.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide uninterrupted service but do not guarantee availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

6.2 Liability Limits

  • The Company is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during your stay.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property, furnishings, or equipment during their stay. Repair or replacement costs will be charged to the guest.
  • The Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the reservation giving rise to the claim.

6.3 Force Majeure

The Company shall not be held liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, strikes, power failures, or internet outages.

6.4 House Rules

Guests must comply with the following house rules. Violation may result in immediate eviction without refund:

  • No smoking inside the building
  • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • No outside guests allowed in rooms after 10:00 PM
  • Please keep common areas clean after use
  • No illegal substances on the premises
  • Guests are responsible for their personal belongings
  • Pets are not allowed

7. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

7.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any legal matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by applicable Korean laws and regulations.

7.2 Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between the Company and a user, both parties shall first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to mediation by the Korea Consumer Agency or the Seoul District Court.

7.3 Jurisdiction

Any legal proceedings arising from or related to these Terms shall be filed in the competent court having jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business (Seoul Western District Court).
